Dr. Scott A. Whitmer, Psy.D.

The Forensic Vocational Evaluation (FVE) is a structured and objective measurement of one’s ability or inability to work and earn wages considering one’s aptitude, education, work experience, physical functioning, intellectual functioning, training, expertise, labor market, labor market access, and other traits, patterns of behavior, and barriers.

The FVE is commonly referred to as a Work Evaluation, Disability Evaluation, Divorce Litigation Evaluation, Fit-to-Work Evaluation, Functional Capacity Evaluation, or Injury Evaluation. Other terms that are used or are similar include Personal Injury Evaluation, Wrongful Termination Evaluation, Worker’s Compensation Evaluation, and Life Care Planning.

Regardless of the evaluation terminology used, the methodology relied upon is scientific, uses specialized knowledge, is peer reviewed, and is widely accepted in the profession of Forensic Vocational Evaluation.
